Budget Debate on Motion 24 — Premier's Speech

Premier Susan Holt resumed the adjourned budget debate, paying tribute to former Liberal MLA Dr. Larry Kennedy, thanking her family and team, and outlining the budget as making the largest health care investment in the province's history, including collaborative care clinics, a $50-million Clinical Information System, paramedic thrombolytics, cancer screening, addiction treatment beds, a dementia and Alzheimer's strategy, and a new long-term care plan for seniors.

Government Motions for the Ordering of the Business of the House

Mr. M. LeBlanc, seconded by Hon. Ms. Holt, moved that consideration of estimates in Committee of Supply be added to the Orders of the Day until dispatched, and moved that the 2026-2027 Main and Capital Estimates and the 2024-2025 Supplementary Estimates (Volume 2) be referred to the Standing Committee on Estimates and Fiscal Policy; both motions were carried.
